Let The Sunshine In Lyrics .rtf

(Rich Text Format)

It looks like daytime, but it's all lamps. Knobtwisting is generally done at nighttime.

Let The Sunshine In

We starve, look at one another, short of breath
Walking proudly in our winter coats
Wearing smells from laboratories
Facing a dying nation

Of moving paper fantasy
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes

Somewhere, inside something there is a rush of
Greatness, who knows what stands in front of
Our lives, I fashion my future on films in space

Silence tells me secretly
Everything
Everything

Manchester, England, England
Manchester, England, England
Across the Atlantic Sea
And I'm a genius, genius
I believe in God
And I believe that God believes in Claude
That's me, that's me, that's me

We starve, look at one another, short of breath
Walking proudly in our winter coats
Wearing smells from laboratories
Facing a dying nation

of moving paper fantasy
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes

Singing our space songs on a spider web sitar
Life is around you and in you
Answer for Timothy Leary, dearie

Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in
The sunshine in

There are so may bits and pieces that turn up after recording and one of these is this one. I name them as anything that comes to my mind. Sometimes I listen to a sketch like this and sing along. It happens that the structures remind me of something that already exists and and singing along with the basic tracks for "Fruits Again" I rediscovered the beauty of Hair's "Let The Sunshine In". And that's what it's going to be. So I'm going to ask Sarah Reid to do the singing because that's too much for me. Needs bass then, some keyboard, perhaps strings and of all things: a choir.

So here are the basics to listen to as a m4a and as an AIF file for download. As I mentioned, it started off with the come to my mind name "Fruits Again".

Fruits Again   Version 5

So Sarah, here are the files for rehersal. I suggest we record two versions: One the way you would like it to be, variating it the way you have in mind and a second one just straight forward and let's see what happens.

In the meantime I have recorded the choir with a 24 people from Basel's Singchor (what a lucky break)! This is going to be a very important element that is going to be placed into the collage.
